The right to copy DVDs - who should decide?

The music industry for years basically sat back and let the money roll in without considering how technologies and consumer requirements were moving forward. Along came MP3 and the ability to easily copy and distribute music without the need for an actual hard copy (CD). In other words, for consumer convenience the music of their choice became more portable as there was no longer a need to carry discs or bulky devices to play them.

CD replication specialists Digital Disc Duplication USA have for a long time promoted alternative formats or usages other than purely the standard audio CD - a prime example of this is the enhanced CD where the excess capacity on most audio CDs can be used for bonus material or an alternative format of the audio (for example MP3) that the owner of the CD can simply transfer onto their portable players. At least then it is the actual copyright owner giving the consumer the choice of format and that could possibly lead to less  demand for seeking the format of choice via illegal copying or downloads. Alas the music industry sat back and watched the illegal file sharing network grow and then simply complained about the loss of revenue as a result.

Well now the movie industry are facing a similar possible scenario as portable devices have improved and can include video as well as audio but at least the industry is aware and actively seeking ways to provide the consumer with the product they want. Many movies are now released with 2 DVD sets where the 2nd disc has a compressed version of the movie that can be transferred to the disc owners portable device. The consumer has the best of both worlds with the best quality for home viewing on the large screen TV and the portable version for viewing on their phones when sitting in airports etc!

Digital Disc Duplication USA do not believe other organizations should have the right to provide software that can simply copy DVDs or convert them to a portable format - they do not own the copyright of the material to grant the right of copying! If the movie industry continues with its forward thinking of providing what the consumer wants then there is a good chance the same mess the music industry found itself in can be less destructive.

Digital Disc Duplication USA provides DVD replication services with quality product Made in America at great prices that makes 2 DVD sets affordable to produce and therefore provides your customer with the choice they want!
