Anti-Piracy
Further to report in Miami Herald (January 20 2008) focusing on the level of pirated DVD’s and CD’s within South Florida in particular, never has there been a more important time to be 100% certain of where and with who you contract for your CD manufacturing or DVD manufacturing requirements.
Whilst it is widely assumed that all pirated CD’s or DVD’s are generated “on the streets” after realase of the original, sadly it is possible that larger volumes of the pirated discs are from the manufacturing source. There are many companies offering CD Replication and DVD Replication and prices are extremely competitive. If price is the only concern for any company offering these services then overseas manufacturing facilities are used and unfortunately such facilities are not within countries governed by such strict anti-piracy rules such as here in the USA. Therefore it is possible that a CD replication or DVD replication project can be contracted to a company based on the “great cheap deal” being offered and in turn that company is sourcing that manufacturing overseas to keep their costs down. Whilst the original order could be for say 5000 units that are surely delivered back to the USA company and then onto the client, the actual number of discs manufactured could be 10000 and because there is little or no control over the anti-piracy, it is very difficult to trace or even know if this has hapenned and the result is what look like legitimate copies being sold illegitimately on the markets!
Therefore it is not simply the copies that are made after the original release that should be of concern - in fact these are easier to identify because they are copied using CD duplication or DVD duplication methods (or “burned”) whereas the real copies are replicated - but we should be very wary of what companies are used for the original CD replication or DVD replication services.
Based in Central Florida, USA, Digital Disc Duplication 100% guarantee that all product is MADE IN THE USA and therefore adhere to the strict anti-piracy laws. Although prices are great value they may not always be the lowest offered on the market but the small difference we feel is an even smaller price to pay than the possible consequence of buying simply the cheapest.
